A Portal for Options Traders: The Smart Platform That Will Make You a Better Trader

Muž v obleku stojí zády a dotýká se holografických grafů akcií v bílé futuristické místnosti, modro-zlaté svítící křivky.

We Have Launched a Community Portal

Our community portal for options traders, focused primarily on option selling, has now been up and running for some time. Its functionality has been tested on a sufficiently large number of real trades.

Its foundation was adapted from our proprietary internal system for recording and analysing positions while managing the fund. We then added numerous new tools for analysis, risk management and annual performance planning, as well as a range of community features.

Discipline Translated into Numbers

Most option sellers trade throughout the year without knowing exactly how well they have performed by the end of it. A broker may show a return, but that figure often combines realised and unrealised profit, may not properly account for capital deposits and withdrawals, and says nothing about how much of the premium sold was actually credited to the account.

Our portal addresses this problem systematically – from the first trade all the way through to annual performance.

We use a strict NET P&L model: every profit is calculated as gross P&L minus commissions, including any discounts and rebates that brokers record as negative fees. ROI is calculated against the actual margin requirement, rather than the cost basis. This ensures a consistent performance record from each individual trade through to the annual summary.

Smart Features Offered by the Portal

Below is an overview of what the platform can do. Some features are described in greater detail, while others are mentioned only briefly. What matters is that they form a single interconnected system – not a collection of isolated tools.

Strategic Planning and Goals

  • Annual plan with monthly milestones – Set your target return, and the portal breaks down the journey into monthly milestones using compound-growth logic.

  • NLV projection – A curve showing the expected development of your net liquidation value through the end of the year, including actual unrealised positions captured at each monthly close.

  • Time-Weighted Return (TWR) – A clean return unaffected by the timing of deposits and withdrawals, ensuring that your own capital movements do not distort the results.

  • Capture rate forecast – An estimate of how much of the remaining premium you are realistically likely to collect, including the ability to model scenario-based changes in options and stock exposure.

  • Variance tracking – A comparison of planned versus actual performance throughout the year, both cumulatively and month by month.

Performance Analytics

  • NET P&L everywhere – From individual trade details and CSV or PDF exports to aggregated charts, the same unambiguous methodology is used throughout.

  • Standardised win/loss ratio – An adjusted ratio that accounts for trade size, rather than merely counting winning and losing trades.

  • Capture rate – The proportion of the theoretical maximum premium that you actually realised—a key metric for option sellers.

  • ROI per trade and holding-period efficiency – See how long your capital was tied up and what return it generated.

  • Accumulated P&L – Daily aggregation with the option to exclude your own trades from community comparisons, providing up to 365 data points per year.

  • Cash-flow charts – Monthly charts with trailing twelve months (TTM) as the default time horizon.

  • Unrealised P&L chart – Includes preliminary projections shown as a dashed line until they turn into a realised profit or loss.

  • SPX beta-weighted delta – Your total exposure converted into an S&P 500 equivalent, with fallback logic for tickers whose beta is unavailable.

Risk and Exposure Management

  • Stress-test dashboard – Shows the theoretical impact of a market decline on both options and stock positions, including a detailed impact breakdown.

  • Margin-utilisation thermometer – A colour-coded indicator showing margin usage relative to your available capital reserve.

  • Maximum Maintenance Margin at Risk – Displays the worst-case maintenance-margin scenario for short positions.

  • Delta Exposure widget – Aggregated delta exposure using live values produced by our own delta calculations.

  • Risk tab – Warnings are limited to positions to which you have actual exposure, eliminating noise from inactive trades.

Trade and Position Management

  • Spread cover cards – Multi-leg spreads are grouped into a single summary card with aggregated metrics and can be expanded with a click. You can combine any positions into a spread instead of being limited to structures predefined by brokers. This allows you to view the combined result of positions that you want to evaluate together.

  • Roll management – Roll chains connect related trades, consolidate P&L across the entire rolling sequence and provide a framework for rolling decisions.

  • Stock assignment dialog – Assignments are handled globally from the application’s main interface. You do not have to enter stock positions manually; they are created automatically based on the outcome of closing an options position.

  • Partial closing – When a position containing multiple contracts is partially closed, rolled or assigned, a copy of the position is automatically created for the remaining contracts.

  • FIFO stock trading – Includes average-price recalculation and proportional allocation of closing commissions to individual lots.

  • Adjusted cost basis – Realised options P&L is deducted from the average cost of the stock position, while dividends are included in the adjusted average cost.

  • Automatic underlying-price retrieval – When you leave the relevant field, the current price of the underlying asset is retrieved automatically in the background.

  • Delta-scale guard – Entered values are checked against the portal’s settings. If you enter a delta between 0 and 1, a dialog explains the scale and offers to convert the value—for example, from 0.16 to 16.

  • Strategy autocomplete – Optimised field completion and inline suggestions allow positions to be entered as quickly as possible.

  • Negative commissions and rebates – Negative commissions are displayed and calculated correctly as refunds.

Market Data and Information

  • AI Market Brief – A daily AI-generated market summary based on RSS sources, with text-to-speech playback directly in the browser and an archive containing deep links to individual editions.

  • AI Insights – Aggregated statistics covering your complete history.

  • Daily Movers – The most active tickers during the trading session, presented in expandable sections.

  • Options Movers – The most active options contracts, top gainers and top losers, with custom sorting and filtering.

  • Earnings calendar – Positions are marked with exposure badges indicating Options or Stock exposure.

  • Events calendar – Dividends and earnings presented in a single view.

  • Market holidays – The portal knows when markets are closed.

  • Market status – Accurately distinguishes between open and closed trading sessions while accounting for time zones.

  • Market-data synchronisation – Synchronises prices for both underlying assets and options positions.

  • Daily portfolio snapshots – Unrealised values at the monthly close are saved automatically, allowing historical analytics to include unrealised gains and losses.

Sharing and Community

  • Share trade – Easily share your positions.

  • Privacy mode – Obscures sensitive information when sharing if you do not want to reveal specific figures.

  • Community feed – Includes a “What’s New” feed, a discovery feed and comparisons with other traders, while maintaining data isolation.

  • Blog – Articles include interactive features such as polls and checklists, along with contextual calls to action based on the user’s current status.

  • Support tickets – Support chat is integrated directly into the platform.

  • Strategy catalogue – Detailed descriptions of strategies, including examples, conditions for use and payoff diagrams.

Why It All Makes Sense Together

The portal’s strength does not lie in any single feature. It comes from combining strategic planning, daily analytics, risk management, market data and community functionality into one interconnected system.

When you enter a position, it appears in the earnings calendar with an exposure badge, in the stress test, in the capture-rate model, in the NLV projection, in the risk analytics and in AI Insights—all using the same NET P&L methodology.

That is the difference between maintaining a trading journal in a spreadsheet and using a platform that keeps track of the context of your entire year and every trade for you.
